Tiago Timoteo Fernandes

I have wide knowledge in signal and image processing, modeling, machine learning, clinical neurophysiology and cognitive systems. I am educated in conducting and analysing EEG and NIRS recordings and I have theoretical knowledge in imaging techniques such as PET, MRI, fMRI, CT and non-invasive stimulations techniques such as TMS or TES. From former experiences in IBEB – Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering in Lisbon, Portugal (http://ibeb.fc.ul.pt/) - and in the Department of Psychology at the University of Würzburg, Germany (where I did my Bachelor thesis on ‘Classifying NIRS signals for a BCI application’) (http://www.i1.psychologie.uni-wuerzburg.de/en/no_cache/int/research/topics/brain_computer_interfaces_bci/); I gained basic practical knowledge in research work (Human Brain Interfaces and Human-Computer Interactions) while doing my studies. I had my Masterthesis on "TMS-EEG combined with Granger Causality - An innovative information flow approach over the full brain connectivity", which I did in Copenhagen at the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance under the supervision of Hartwig Siebner at the Hvidovre University Hospital (http://drcmr.dk/).
