Dr. Taixing Cui’s research interests are primarily in the area of cardiovascular pathological remodeling and dysfunction contributing to cardiovascular diseases. His laboratory has focused on the cellular and molecular mechanism of cardiovascular remodeling and dysfunction in diverse pathological settings such as hypertension and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Cui is currently working as an Associate Professor in the department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He has published over 70 papers in peer-reviewed, high impact journals including Circulation, Circ Res, PNAS, ATVB, Hypertension, JMCC, Endocrinology, and J Biol. Chem. Dr. Cui’s research has been continuously funded by American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Heart Association (AHA), pharmaceutical industry, and NIH. Dr. Cui has received numerous awards such as McKay Grant Award at Cardiovascular Center at University of Michigan and served as an editor-in-chief of Journal of Cell Science and Therapy as well as editorial board members for a number of peer-reviewed journals.
