My primary interest is on the spatial and temporal environmental heterogeneity and its effects on plant growth, in particular on photosynthesis. I have focused on related issues - the effects of climate changes and livestock grazing on carbon dynamics and plant species diversity in Asian grasslands, mainly on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. I am also interested in dynamic photosynthesis, in particular in its relation to light and CO2 environments.
