She is an Full Professor at ISPA, and PI in Willima James Center of Research having obtained her degree at the Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon in 1986, and later obtained her Master in Probabilities and Statistics at the Faculty of Sciences in 1993. She finished her PhD in Psychology at the University of Lisbon in 1999.
Within her Academic Management activities she’s been Director of the Investigation Centre and of the Psychology Lab at ISPA. She’s a member of Scientific Societies such as the Portuguese Psychology Association, Portuguese Experimental Psychology Association, American Psychology Association and the European Association of Social Psychology. Her main investigative interests lay within the framework of Social Cognition where she has supervised several Master and PhD thesis. She is a member of the Research Unit on Cognitive, Developmental and Educational Psychology I & D Unit (UIPCDE) at ISPA until 2015 and is leading investigator in several FCT funded investigation projects. Her work is published in chapters in international books and specialized reviews amongst which the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Social Cognition. Since 2002 she is Editor of the Psychology Lab Review.
