Michael S Woods
Dr. Michael Woods is a Principal of Sociotechnologix, LLC, a healthcare services and products company specializing in applying sociotechnical methodologies to create novel solutions to complex patient safety problems. Our product line is a SaaS-based, mobile application for real-time, frontline reporting & advanced analytics of HIT safety, usability, and workflow. Our SafeHIT software enhance frontline user experience of HIT, in part by engendering real-time collaboration with their information technology colleagues. SafeHIT enables the documentation of the magnitude, nature, and extent of HIT patient harm.
As a consultant, Dr. Woods has worked multiple healthcare organizations & trained thousands of healthcare personnel in North America and the UK, including physicians, leaders, nurses & risk managers.
He has authored four non-fiction books: Civil Leadership, In A Blink, Healing Words, and The DEPO Principle, and edited Cultural Sensitivity for Healthcare Providers, a Joint Commission annual best-seller. He has authored and co-authored over twenty peer reviewed articles in surgery and physician leadership. He published his first fiction novel, Olduvai Countdown, in 2015, recently optioned by Sony Pictures.
Dr. Woods is a Board-certified surgeon, & trained liver and pancreatic surgery. He graduated with honors from the Marshall School of Business at USC in 2008, receiving his Master’s in Medical Management.
