Summary

I have been a marine ecologist for 35 years, publishing over 250 scientific peer-reviewed papers. My research explores the relationships between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, using coastal habitats as an experimental system. I also use a combination of sustained observations, experiments and modelling to investigate the responses of biodiversity and ecosystems to climate change, including interaction with other impacts such as over-fishing and inappropriate coastal development.
