ROSHANI BINTI OTHMAN was born in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia in 1978. She entered Matriculation (Life –Science) after she finishes her secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Agama Atas Sultan Zainal Abidin, Terengganu. In the following year, she continued her tertiary education in University Putra Malaysia where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) degree. She obtained her Master of Science degree in 2006, in the area of Aquatic Biotechnology from University of Selangor, Malaysia. She joined University of Selangor in 2002 as an Assistant Lecturer at Faculty of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. She was appointed Lecturer in 2006. Her main research interest are genetic conservation, molecular biology and reproductive biology. Currently, she is the project leader for a research grant (FRGS 1/2012) entitled, “Molecular identification of blackwater fishes in peat swamp forest”. She is also an active project member for several research projects under MOSTI, FRGS 1/2013 and PRGS 2/2015.
