Po-Wen Chen

Summary

Dr. Chen currently is an Assistant professor of veterinary department, whose expertise is probiotics, anti-bacterial peptides and milk microbiome studies. He is also interested in the studies about the assessment of cellular mutagenicity of food or environment wastes. He has led studies addressed the above issues. For instance, his efforts has shown that the combination of bovine lactoferrin or its hydrolysate with specific probiotic supernatants leads to better efficacy against the growth of food-borne and antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
