Otto Lappi

Otto Lappi has a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Helsinki. The focus of his research is on cognitive processes underlying skilled visuomotor control "in the wild" - i.e. domains such as driving and sports - in particular the visual control of high-speed locomotion. Relevant research areas include cognitive and computational modeling, vehicle dynamics, cognitive neuroscience, sports psychology, and perceptual and cognitive psychology. The main body of his empirical work is based on eye tracking in naturalistic tasks.

He also has MA in Theoretical Philosophy from the University of Helsinki, and has published work on the philosophy of cognitive science, in particular philosophical issues of representation and computational explanation in the neurocognitive science.
