Summary

I teach and carry out research at a small liberal arts college where I work one on one with students in the classroom and lab. My lab works on the development of the motor program and the eye in Daphnia magna, the water flea. Our primary interest at the present time is understanding the role of dopamine and dopamine neurons in the development of swimming in these branchiopods. We use neuropharmacology, behavioral assays, molecular cloning and embryo culture methods.
