Summary

I teach and carry out research at a small liberal arts university where I work one on one with students in the classroom and lab. My lab works on the development of the motor program and the eye in Daphnia magna, a water flea. Our primary interest at the present time is understanding how cyclopia evolved by comparing developmental genetic trajectories for branchiopods with one (Daphnia) and two (Artemia and Triops) eyes.
