Megan N O'Donnell


Megan is a Scholarly Communications and Sci-Tech Librarian at Iowa State University Library. She is responsible for the Library’s natural history, forestry/fisheries, and environment sections of the collection. She also leads the Library’s efforts to increase awareness of open access, copyright, and data sharing and managmeent by offering workshops, assistance with data management plans, and more. She holds a BFA in Fine Art from Southern Oregon University and a MS Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Before becoming a librarian she worked as a video game tester and an entomology lab technician among other odd jobs. If you ask her how an art major became a science librarian and a data wonk she’ll tell you that it’s a long story and involves a lot of bugs.
