She graduated with degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna and had her scientific training for specialty degree in Microbiology and Virology at the University of Bologna.

Experience: She works in the laboratory of Virology focused on the diagnosis of viral infections with two main sections: 1) a section for the diagnosis of Herpes Viruses, Adenovirus, Respiratory Viruses, Enteroviruses, Gastroenteritis Viruses and Measles; 2) a section for the follow up of Cytomegalovirus and Rubella Virus infections in pregnant women, pre-natal and post-natal diagnosis.
Scientific Activities: she has made significant contributions in the following areas: 1) Study on the pre and postnatal diagnosis of congenital CMV infection; 2) Identification of maternal and neonatal prognostic markers in utero transmission and of congenital cytomegalovirus disease in infected fetuses and newborns; 3) Study of management of cytomegalovirus infection in solid organ/hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.
Since her thesis she has published 40 scientific papers.
She also participated in numerous conferences in many of them as a speaker.
She is a member of the Italian Society for Clinical Microbiology (AMCLI).
She is nominated member of the advisory working group concerning stillbirth by the Emilia-Romagna Region Council.
