I apply environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding to aquatic and terrestrial communities to understand how composition, structure, and interactions change in response to anthropogenic and environmental stressors. My PhD research focused on using eDNA metabarcoding to study biodiversity associated with ponds and ecological questions we can address. My postdoctoral research focused on targeted and community eDNA approaches for threatened and invasive species to understand distribution, diet, and interactions. I am now working on DNA metabarcoding of sponge tissues for marine biodiversity monitoring.
