Kunzhi Li


Professor Li kunzhi was born in 1963 in Guangxi , China. He received his Bachelor Degree and Master degree from Guang-Xi University, Guang-Xi, China in 1984 and 1988, separately. From 1996 to 2001, he studied for Ph. D. in Agronomy at Crop Science Laboratory of Kyoto University, Japan and received his Ph D degree in 2001. From April, 2001 to March, 2003, he studied at Crop Ecology Laboratory of Kyoto University as a visiting scholar. From April 2003 to March 2004 he did post-doctoral training at the institute of Vegetable and Tea-science and Plant Physiology Laboratory of Kyoto University. During this time, he cloned and characterized ancient-bacterial and apodosis PEPC. In April 2004, he came back china and worked at Kunming University of Science and technology. From September 2011 to September 2013, he studied at Department of Plant Biology, the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign as senior visiting scholar. During this time, he studied the relation of availability of free asparagine and storage protein accumulation in developing seeds by metabolomics analysis. He is professor and PhD tutor of biotechnology research center in this University. His research has focus on the genetic engineering for plant nutrition. He has published more than 120 original research papers on scientific journals (SCI 35)
