John M Carroll

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Georgia Southern University ( I am broadly interested in benthic ecology and used shellfish as model organisms to examine ecological concepts. Additionally, I am interested in applied research, particularly for restoration. I previously did my postdoc at UNCW with Dr. Chris Finelli (, where I focused on oyster reef research. I received my PhD in Dr. Brad Peterson's Community Ecology Lab ( where I focused my work on bay scallops and changing habitats.
