Summary

My research fields are clinical nutrition, metabolomics, clinical epidemiology and data mining/AI in medical field. I lead a multidisciplinary team that poses capacity on data mining, complex biological systems modeling and metabolomics research. We have successfully established metabolomics research model for severe trauma, aging and HIV (animal model and clinical study). My colleagues and I developed series of clinical decision support systems on critical care and HIV management. Other innovative works we have done included tracking the molecular evolutionary origin of novel H7N9 influenza, the very first clinical data mining model (based on Wenchuan earthquake rescue data of 2008), and a computational epidemiological model on Ebola virus disease transmission.
