Summary

Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor and Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas. Previously served in administrative leadership and faculty roles at Brown, Duke, Purdue, and Texas A&M. B.S. with highest honors in mathematics in 1977 from Notre Dame; Ph.D. in computer science in 1980 from Stanford; and M.B.A. in 2002 from Duke. Over 300 publications, primarily dealing with algorithmic aspects of big data. Fellow of the Guggenheim Society, AAAS, ACM, and IEEE.
