I have been a research fellow at the Computer Science department of Universidad de Granada (UGR) since 2013. Previously, I was a visiting lecturer at the Computer Science department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2009-2013), a postdoctoral researcher at the same university (2008-2009), and an early stage researcher funded by Junta de Andalucía at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence department of UGR. I received BSc in Computer Science (2004), MSc (2006) and PhD (2008, Cum Laude and European Doctorate mentions) degrees from UGR.
My research work focuses on Semantics-based Information Fusion and Data Analysis. I have applied the results of my work in various domain areas, namely Ambient Intelligence, video-surveillance and security, maritime traffic control, and efficient energy management. I have actively participated as a collaborator in more than 20 national and international R+D projects in these areas, and published more than 60 papers in indexed journals and conferences.
