My area of specialty is physical anthropology with focus on primate behavior. I am interested in how stress influences behavior and health. Chimpanzees are an excellent model for investigating these questions given their phylogenetic relatedness with humans, as they live in complex societies with hierarchies, gender roles and culture. My research interests intersect with many courses in psychology, (neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, cognition) anthropology, human and non-human socioecology.
