Summary
I have worked in the field of membrane proteins for 20 years, ever since completing a PhD in Oxford under the supervision of Mark Sansom. I've had my own lab since 2002, working on ATP binding cassette transporters and other families of membrane transporter. During that time we have investigated function of eukaryotic multidrug pumps, mechanism and physiology of plant auxin transporters, and the contribution of multidrug pumps to paediatric brain tumours. The main focus of our work remains an understanding of ABC transporters involved in drug efflux.
