Summary

For the past 13 years, I have worked internationally on global taxonomy, biodiversity (informatics), biogeography, species distribution modelling of marine species, and big-data management. I got a gold medal in Iran as the best M.Sc. student in marine science. I then was awarded a very competitive scholarship from New Zealand to do my PhD also in marine science. After completing my PhD, I carried out about five years of international post-doc research in Brazil and Germany on deep-sea ecology and biogeography. As a young scientist, I published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals, already granted many funding (sum amount of 626.157 €), and have established strong international networks. I am an active UNESCO trainer to promote the data sharing and open-access digitisation. I also tightly participate in science-policy (e.g., IPBES) platforms to provide the policy makers and stakeholders with benchmark studies on biodiversity and its drivers. In addition, I have about 15 years of teaching experience and supervised more than 10 graduate students.
