Work details

Assistant Professor

Al-Neelain University
April 2017
Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
Teaching courses of Biochemistry I & II, Membrane Biology, Biophysics, and Protein Chemistry & Metabolism. Conducting research in microbial biochemistry of various microbial community structures with focus on those with anti-microbial properties. We are also interested in improving our understanding in the mechanism of hydrocarbon biosynthesis and their production from micro-algae in large scales as possible alternative source of fuel to replace the fossil fuel.

Specially Appointed Assistant Professor

Osaka City University
April 2013 - March 2014
The OCU Advanced Research Institute for Natural Science & Technology
X-ray structural analyses of photosystem II complex mutants from themophilic cyanobacteria for the sake of understanding the molecular mechanism behind the light-induced water oxidation catalyzed by the oxygen-evolving complex of photosystem II

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Nagoya Institute of Technology
May 2014 - March 2015
Frontier Materials
Studying the molecular mechanisms of ion translocation of newly discovered microbial rhodopisns from marine eubacteria with main objective in developing new optogenetics tools suitable for neurosceince applications.

Postdoctoral Research Associates

University of Virginia
June 2015 - December 2016
Molecular Physiology & Biological Physics
Studying the structural and functional relations of membrane protein members of the glycosyltransferase superfamily 2, e.g., cellulose biosynthases
