Summary
I am a neuroscientist working on multidisciplinary topics related to the understanding of social behaviour (including the social self) under an evolutionary prism. My current research projects are centered on emotion and face processing, audio-visual perception, aesthetic experiences, and cognition. My lab employs a wide range of methodologies, from noninvasive brain stimulation and cognitive testing to eye-tracking and surveys. At the clinical level, we work alongside Dementia patients and Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients examining how emotion processing and aesthetic experiences can be affected by cognitive and physical constraints.
Other roles: consultant (empirical aesthetics, vision, perception), associated journal editor, panel member (including the NHS ethics committee), public speaker, grant reviewer for research councils in the UK and Canada.
