Farhad B Hashemi
Born in 1960, finished my high school education in Iran, and pursued my education in several universities in the USA. Earned my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology, and in 1993, obtained my PhD in Virology and Immunology from University of Texas. In 1995, I completed a 2-year fellowship in Clinical Microbiology and Public Health at the Texas Health Science Center, in Houston, TX. My second postdoctoral training focused on the area of heterosexual transmission of HIV. In 2000, I joined Abbott Laboratories Corp. in North Chicago, IL, and worked there for two years. Since 2002, I have begun my career as an assistant professor in the Department of Microbiology in the School of Medicine of Tehran University if Medical Sciences in Iran; and remain an active faculty member there.
