Summary

I focused my Master Thesis and PhD research on the development of emotional and intentional communication in bonobos (Pan paniscus). In particular, I investigated the importance of social play in expanding the repertoire and refining the use of gestures and facial expressions. My research is devoted to trace the evolutionary foundations of some traits of human behavior.
