Summary

Prof. Dr. Egbert BAKKER, is head of the Laboratory for Diagnostic Genome Analysis (LDGA). He (co-)authored >300 articles and was one of the pioneers in molecular genetics techniques and its application that led to the development of the first prenatal test for Duchenne muscular dystrophy(1985). In 2005 the molecular genetics lab, the cytogenetics lab and the lab for Hemoglobinopathies merged into the LDGA and was accredited according the new quality standard for medical laboratories ISO 15189.
