Mohd Rizal Abdul Manaf
Dr. Mohd Rizal Abdul Manaf is a Professor and Public Health Consultant in the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC). He graduated with Medical Doctor from UKM in 1994 and Master of Community Health (Hospital and Health Management) from UKM in 2001 and subsequently attained Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health in 2009.
He was appointed as one of the committee members in reviewing health care reform and 1Care Technical Committee of Ministry of Health Malaysia at the National Level. His main areas of research are cost-effectiveness analysis and quality of life. He is involved in a number of researches on health economics and quality of life in Malaysia. These include cost effectiveness analysis of cataract surgery, health care cost of smoking in Malaysia, socio-economic impact of psychiatric disorders and quality of life, the impact of obesity on health care costs and quality of life in Malaysia, cost effectiveness of diabetic patient empowerment programme on blood glucose control and quality of life.
He is a member of Public Health Specialist Association of Malaysia. He is an editor of International Public Health Research Journal and also served as reviewer for PLOS One Journal, Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences, Medical Journal of Malaysia.
