Summary
I am an evolutionary ecologist and a creative environmentalist working at the crossroads of ecology, evolution, genetics, agronomy, chemical engineering, and analytical science; with a keen interest in the influence of genetic variation on species interactions across man-influenced contexts of Genotype x Genotype and Genotype x Genotype x Environment.
Focus research has been on Community Genetics as a platform for ecological interactions, where a significant portion of the environment of a focal species can be differentially defined by the expressed genomes of other interacting species. Further, I am very interested in testing phenotypic plasticity in the light of the interactions between direct and indirect ecological as well as genetic effects in agro- and aquatic ecosystems. In all, my work adds new evidence to the cutting-edge research on the evolutionary importance of phenotypic plasticity and GxGxE interactions in shaping the dynamics of communities under ecological crunches and varying biotic and abiotic environmental stressors.
I also have a great interest in amalgamating theory and practice from different branches of natural sciences and engineering into a unified framework to serve the cause of mitigating pollution and restoring habitats.
For years, I have been working on a collaborative series of teaching innovations that brings Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) to new dimensions of application, interactivity, immersivity, and transferability.
With more than 19-year experience in empirical and theoretical research within various spheres of science, the results of my research have been published in leading journals with several more manuscripts under review, in progress, and in submission to international peer-reviewed journals.
