Daniele Viciani
Summary
Graduated in Natural Sciences at the University of Florence in 1992, he obtained his Ph.D. in Biosystematics and Plant Ecology at the University of Florence in 1996.
At present he works as Associate Professor of of Environmental and Applied Botany.
Daniele carries out studies concerning classification and mapping of vegetation types and habitats, with particular reference to the conservation aspects. He is also involved in studies on plant ecology, floristics and systematics of vascular flora, landscape:
-Vegetation science (vegetation surveys, vegetation ecology, classification and mapping of plant communities)
-Habitat identification, mapping and evaluation
-Rare and endemic flora and habitats of conservation interest
-Floristic and plant systematic studies
-Landscape research
He collaborates with local, national and international bodies and administrations (i.e. regional protected areas and national Italian parks, Regione Toscana, ISPRA and Italian Ministry of the Environment, European Environmental Agency, etc.) on conservation issues and projects concerning habitats and plant species.
