Carlos Ramon Ruiz
Obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 1985 from Tulane University of Louisiana and in 1992 a PhD in Animal Behaviour from University of California, Davis. During his PhD world on the ontogeny of behaviour and mother-offspring recognition in domestic and feral ungulates. From 1992-1997. Worked as Developmental Ethologist\Education specialist at the Department of Zoological Research of the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park. During this time he works on the behaviour of wild and reintroduced golden lion tamarins. Since 1997 he has been a Vertebrate Behaviour and Conservation professor at the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense in Brazil. Main interests are behaviour and conservation, animal reintroductions, captive management.
