Covadonga Orejas

My research is focused on benthic communities. My main research topic is the ecology of Cold-water Coral dominated communities, developing this research in several regions, from the poles to the tropics. I am interested in understanding the spatial distribution of these organisms, as well as their biology, ecology and ecophysiology. The results of my research are directly applicable to conservation biology, as most of the systems I study are vulnerable ecosystems which deserve protection.
