Summary
I am a Biological Oceanographer with main background in ecology and taxonomy of marine invertebrates, particularly Decapods. Specially in the ecological relation of the invertebrates with marine ecosystems in the actual Anthropocene scenario.
During my professional and academic life in natural history museums and in ecological and environmental science centres I have been involved in several high level projects. As a scientist and businessmen I have developed important business skills in negotiations with environmental stakeholders and private companies for funding scientific projects. All projects resulted in significant academic publications per year and not less important the projects resulted in involvement with the general public in conservation and restoration actions; extending the scientific results to outside the academy.
I have developed a comprehensive skill set in all aspects of project management. I have been a research team leader, including onboard research vessels, for fellow researchers, students, technicians and divers on many academic research ventures and diving expeditions.
Highlighting that I have considerable experience in several aspects of SCUBA diving with expertise in scientific diving procedures. Indeed, I developed a scientific diving course which have been recognised by PADI focusing on underwater monitoring; mainly addressed for graduation and post-graduation students.
