Summary

I am an integrative physiologist interested in the molecular regulation of human adaptation to different environmental stressors and training stimuli. The main focus of my work to date is to determine the role acute and chronic heat exposure may have on subsequent, acute, exposures to different stressors such as hypoxia. I have an interest in how the heat shock response can be manipulated via physical, environmental or dietary means to invoke muscle regrowth following unloading, or enhance adaptation to a period of training.
