Summary

I am a cell biologist and biochemist, who studies the molecular basis of pathological processes in cancer and inflamation. In my lab we do research mainly on breast cancer. Currently we allocate most of our efforts in the primary culture of tumor cells derived from cancer patients, from different types of cancer. On such cultures we test chemosensitivity and tumor formation by xenograftment in nude mice. Additionally we conduct a lot of western blots and functional in vitro assays to pin point the role of signal transduction pathways in cancer progression, such as NF-kB, PI3K and of steroid hormones.
