Allan Green was born and educated in the United Kingdom, and received a D.Phil. in biochemistry from Oxford University. He was a postdoc at the University of Colorado Medical School, held faculty postions at the University of Florida and the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. He was then director of the Bassett Research Institute in Cooperstown, NY before taking his present position at SUNY Oneonta. Most of his career has been dedicated to obesity and diabetes research.
