I’m a molecular ecologist interested in insect-microorganisms and plant-microorganism-insect interaction. I received both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences studying at University of Reggio Calabria (Italy), and a Ph.D. in Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences from University of Palermo (Italy). In 2017 I joined the IFM-Biology Department at Linköping University (Sweden) as Postdoctoral Fellow to work on insect transcriptomics. In January 2019 I will join the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology at The Ohio State University to work on the molecular mechanisms behind plant-microorganisms interactions and their effects on surrounding biological communities. I’m collaborating on projects dealing with the role of microbial symbionts in biological invasions, and on the insect-microorganisms relationship in polyphagous species.
