I’m widely interested in entomology, and I aim to study different aspects of the ecology and evolution of insects using molecular biology and bioinformatics tools. I received both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences studying at University of Reggio Calabria (Italy), and a Ph.D. in Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences from University of Palermo (Italy). At Linköping University I’m mainly focusing on dissecting the mechanisms behind the condition-dependent sexual dimorphism, using Drosophila melanogaster as model species. At the same time, I’m collaborating on projects dealing with plant-microorganism-insect interactions, on understanding the role of microbial symbionts in biological invasions, and on the insect-microorganisms relationship in polyphagous species.
