I am currently the head of the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Group at the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (Spain). Research fields include evolution of signaling pathways (with emphasis on RAS and the DNA Damage Response), structure/function prediction approaches to infer mechanistic details of protein function, evolution of protein families, methods development and Integrative Biology in the context of Biomedicine.

I am a Biologist by training Ph.D. in Biology (Molecular Microbiology). My focus in on evolution, sequence/structure analyses in signalling pathways. I lead the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Group [CbBIO] @ the CSIC Institute of Biomedicine in Seville-[IBIS] since September 2013. I also supervise the Bioinformatics Unit at IBiS.
