Summary

I use a combination of field experiments, modeling, and synthesis to examine diverse relationships in coastal environments. Specifically, I investigate how coastal restoration and conservation strategies influence ecological dynamics, and in turn, social relationships and outcomes. I apply this knowledge to inform ecosystem-based management strategies that benefit nature and people. Much of my work is with shellfish in estuaries and tropical coral reef fish, as well as the communities that depend on these resources.
