Shaolin Liao
Summary
Dr. Liao is a Professor (Research & Teaching) at the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, USA. He is also a R&D Staff at Argonne National Laboratory, a laboratory of Department of Energy of U.S.A. managed by UChicago Argonne LLC.
Before joining Argonne, Dr. Liao was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Physics, the City University of New York (CUNY, 2008-2010). Dr. Liao received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, in 2008 and his Bachelor Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2000. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Access and a Senior Member of IEEE. He is now joining PeerJ Computer Science journal as an Associate Editor in October 2020. Dr. Liao has 3 granted patents and 1 published patent by the time of October 2020.
Dr. Liao’s research interests span multidisciplinary areas of Applied Electromagnetics: 1) Millimeter/THz wave techniques and 5G/6G; 2) Artificial Intelligence (AI) for 5G/6G big data science; 3) Fiber Lasers & Photonics; and 4) Computational Electromagnetics (CEM).
At last, by October, 2020, Prof. Liao has published more than 80 papers in reputed journals and conference proceedings, including IEEE, SPIE, and Springer.
